Will it work every time?
It will not work every time.
But is it worth doing?
It is.
It's a great exercise.
The problem is people run into, oh, it didn't work, so it doesn't work.
No, it does help, but nothing works 100% of the time.
And this is one of the conditioning things as salespeople that mucks us up.
We continually look for something that will work 100% of the time.
And we're uncomfortable as soon as it doesn't work.
And instead of owning it, instead of learning it,
from the lesson that we just paid for, what do we do?
We blame the person who taught us that and say it doesn't work.
It doesn't work in every case.
Nothing does.
Nothing ever will.
We have to be artists.
We have to be performers to understand the context that we are under and pick what we feel will be the best response to try and move us forward.
And own it.
The minute we relinquish ownership of our choices and our decisions, we are hurting ourselves because what we're saying is it's not my fault that I picked the wrong thing or I didn't read the situation right, which it never will.
