And I got that little bit of mild depression that you get after being so focused and tunnel visioned on one particular goal that you hit it and overcome it and achieve it that you feel lost when you come out the other side.

When I finished the six back to back marathons in the Sahara in 2018, I had always planned on putting a heavy focus on my family on the back of that.
I knew that I was going to take a little bit of time to recover physically.
Um, so I put a huge focus.
I went on holidays with my family.
I spent a lot more time with my inner circle, my friends, people that I couldn't meet in the lead up because of the amount of training I was doing.
So I had shifted focus and shifted.
Goals.
It was away from fitness, but it was in another area of my life that was important to me.
When I finished the Arctic last year, when I ran through the Arctic, 230 kilometers through the Arctic, I had always planned on finishing my new the latest book, Rewire Your Mindset.
So as soon as that was over, like literally the day I got home, I started writing the final draft of that book.
And that kept my mind focused.
It wasn't training related, but it kept my mind focused.
What I do with training then is I always do complementary programs off the back of an endurance event, meaning that I'm fortunate in the sense that I hate running.
So taking a break from running isn't an issue for me.
Um, I know a lot of runners and ultra runners get depressed at the end of events because they're like, Oh, I need to take a break on running.
