You put one foot in front of the other and you keep moving forward.

And that's how day one went.

The blizzard came, day two was another 52 kilometers, and then fucking day three came.

And I didn't feel right waking up on day three.

My heel was playing at me towards the end of day two, about 10 kilometers from the end of day two.

I was already in, you know, about 100 kilometers in, in terms of distance coverage, maybe a little bit more, maybe a little bit less, depending on the accuracy of the Fitbit.

But my heel was really playing up, and it took me ages to get to the start line to get going.

But about five kilometers into day three, my entire Achilles tore.

And it took me nearly three hours to get the last five, or to get the last 10 kilometers for the first checkpoint.

And I remember Simon even talking to the medics there and he's like, I'm not sure if he's going to be able to finish.

And I talked to the medic and she's like, yeah, it's your Achilles.

And I was like, it's radiating pain.

I was like, it's shooting up my leg.

It's giving me a fucking headache.

I was like, it's just so much pain.

And she was like, yeah, it's probably your Achilles.

It's inflamed or it's probably torn now.

And I was like, okay, I'll just try and get to the next checkpoint.

And I took some painkillers and I took some caffeine.

I had intentionally saved my caffeine for when I needed it.
