You get different things when you expose yourself to different elements or different experiences or different circumstances.
And I came back from the Sahara last April, and I remember all my limitations had been broken down in terms of I realized that every limitation I'd ever created was self-created and my entire mind opened up to everywhere else where I was holding limitations for myself.
That's not what I got from the Arctic.
What I got from the Arctic was a reinforcement that I can physically do anything I set my mind to personally.
And I don't like saying that in terms of, oh, fucking look how good he is.
But not that it's what I got.
It's my truth.
But what I really got was my relationship with pain has really transformed since coming back.
And I'm a big believer that pain is temporary.
I know it goes away.
And I had to keep repeating to myself that, yes, this hurts and fuck.
About 60 kilometers from the end, the pain was like nothing else I've ever felt.
My Achilles was aching.
My knee was throbbing.
My fucking head was pounding from the pain my body was in.
And I just had to keep telling myself this will go away.
Pain will go away.
It might take a day.
It might take a week.
