And for a long time, those spaces were just occupied by the right.
There was so little investment, so little attention paid to the independent space on the left that when people inevitably moved from their TV sets to their computer screens and their phones,
The only people that were doing this kind of stuff were people on the right.
And so they had a huge benefit because someone would open their phone and start scrolling and they would much quicker see Megyn Kelly or Alex Jones or Ben Shapiro or Daily Wire or Daily Caller or OAN Newsmax, Fox.
All of these people had so much bigger of a presence on these platforms than anybody on the left did.
Now, luckily, we're seeing
the left get closer and closer to parity in these spaces.
I still don't think it's anywhere near as big.
And frankly, I don't think the left will ever be invested in in the same way that the right is because we just don't have folks who are financially interested in propping up these spaces on the left because
uh right-wing policies benefit them so it's been much more of a grassroots campaign but luckily i mean we've got folks like you we've got uh uh folks in the independent space you know midas and pacman and and uh you know all the people who uh who i'm sure your viewers tune into uh on on a daily basis and so i think uh i think it's going to be a slog and
like kind of a you know a basically a bar fight at this point to get eyes and ears but um but it's certainly a better situation than it was in the lead up to 2024 when we had all but abandoned these spaces in this misguided deference to the idea that legacy media was still enough look i

And also you have to remember a lot of my early days online, like from 2017 to 2020 or 2021, I was sitting there in a suit trying to like fake it till you make it because people viewed, okay, if you want to like- I noticed, Brian.

You want to dress the part and people didn't want to get their news from, you know, random kids on YouTube wearing, wearing a hoodie and things change.
yeah it's a great question i think that people are are especially focused on like you know the difference is legacy media will focus so much on process on the day-to-day minutia i mean if you know if if there's a filibuster fight happening it'll be all about the filibuster and like regular people not only don't know
what the fuck that means.
