They just want affordable health care.
They just want to be able to eat food and pay for groceries and certainly not to have to decide whether they're going to pay their medical bills or their food bills.
So I think that kind of thing is where we have the ability to push these people, whereas legacy media would never do that.
Legacy Media is not in the business of advocacy.
And so they're not able to say, fuck the sacrosanctity of the filibuster, get it done because people need affordable health care.
They have to just talk about what's happening.
And often they'll do it through this both side lens.
And I think that's what people are just exhausted with, this idea that if you do not give equal time to the failings of the Democrats and the Republicans and equate a misplaced modifier on the left with the fact that there's an insurrection on the right, then somehow you'll lose this sense of neutrality.
And in an era where the asymmetry between the two parties is so great, that is just exhausting and frankly untenable.

Why independent media has risen the way that it has?
No, no, no.
I think that's exactly right.
Dan Pfeiffer makes a really great point where he talks about how Democrats will spend all of this time
crafting the perfect message and because we had no distribution system because we didn't focus on on social media or independent media where we can talk directly to people it everything was was handed like this perfectly crafted message that they poured over and and and uh and and made sure to to you know kill themselves over to make sure that it was perfect hand it over to legacy media where the
they are not even on your team like this is a this is an institution that exists to be hostile to both political parties and so it's just it's just completely it just runs completely counter um to to logic to give your perfectly crafted message to
you know, a legacy media outlet.
Meanwhile, you've got the right where we have these avowed propaganda channels who are perfectly content to read from the same scripts, as you say.
And so, again, that asymmetry, I think, is what led to the rise of independent media.
