Oh, a book.
Okay.
So a coworker of mine suggested this.
Um, I had to go to London for a work trip uh and he said, Hey, there's this really good book.
It's called Longitude, this true story of a lone genius who solved the greatest scientific problem of his time by um I think it's Dava D A B A Sylval.
Uh and it's about
how they had to figure out how to measure longitude back in kind of the 1800s.
Um, it's a very interesting book.
It's written in more of kind of a drama way of the personalities that are involved and how they figured out clocks to measure longitude with stars and all of that.
Um, quick read, I read it beforehand and then um I I took a short trip to Greenwich and saw the Royal Observatory and the Prime Meridian and the very first clock, the H1.
uh that was used to measure longitude and it was super cool.
and they couldn't measure the longitude and so then they they weren't exactly sure where they were from an east-west perspective.
really interesting because like we're trying to figure out this problem in payments right now, and it was sort of humbling that
you know, hundreds of years ago, they were just trying to figure out how to keep track of time on a a regular basis that was accurate so they could, you know, run ships around the world.
And so it's really humbling of like, how is that, how do we not know this?
Obviously we know it.
Um so yeah, very the the innovation of its time.
Yeah, thanks for having me.
This is fun reading.
