not only for sentimental reasons, but also so that he'd have two starts before the trade deadline.

So if somebody is interested in him, he can say, you know, I went five innings.

You know, I can compete at this level.

And I think that that's what's always driven him is can I get outs at this level?

Can I still be a big leaguer?

You know, I don't think the numbers or the records or any of that stuff really matter to him.
