And as I said, my publisher, Graham Ryan said to me, if you're going to try to bring to life all these people, you need to show who they are and who they were.
So, uh, that was, uh, I going around the clubs were, uh,
were very helpful, the people, the families were very helpful.
AFL photos, there was a lady called Celia Drummond who I'm indebted to for sourcing a lot of them and so it was important that I got photographs of all these people so that I could identify or the reader could identify
and relate to them when we're telling the stories.
And there was action shots, there's shots of people coming off and carrying premiership cups around the ground and players, carton players in Collingwood Guernseys as they did in those days when they swapped jumpers.
And as I said, it was a different time in football for sure.

Mm-hmm, it was just when I found time that I had time to talk to these people, uh, Jared, and too often they take their memories with them.
There were a lot of these untold stories that I had in the back of my mind that I I'd like to pursue.
Uh, and and by doing that I was able to bring to life people like Polly Farmer, like John Kennedy Sr., uh people who know about them but but probably know very
very little about them, so that's what I've just tried to do, bring them bring them to back to life.
