So it didn't connect at all.

But on the way to England, which I knew was going to be a long journey, I thought maybe I should buy a book.

And there was this book called Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown, a history of the American Indian and what happened as they travelled west making America.

And I read that book.

during the course of flight over and travelling through Europe in a van at the time.

And I was fascinated by it.

And it opened my mind to things that I hadn't ever had to consider or think about.

And that started me reading.

And I think that continued and I became a big reader and read all sorts of stuff.

No, I thought it was romance.

And there's a bit in there.

I hadn't really read crime fiction until maybe 15 years ago when my sister introduced me to it.

And so once again, it's a stumble.

I was watching television one night

And CNN was on, and there was a group of about eight people there, men and women, about my age.

This was in Hong Kong, and they'd all just been released from prison.

And the judges said to them, you're not drug mules, you're stupid.

And they'd all been caught carrying things through that they didn't know they were carrying, because they'd gotten caught with romance or whatever.

And they'd all got caught.
