And the one thing I love about New Zealand rugby players, the mindset isn't about...
complaining about the ref.
Like, we genuinely believe it's like a catch-pass skill set to adjust to the ref fastest and first.
And I think the team that does that at the breakdown will, you know, pay big dividends.
I'll tell you what, Bryn, actually, I mean, you probably won't know or care about this position, but has Ahio just put himself in, like, AB's boulder frame?
Like, mate, his performance at Tidehead was...
incredible like he is he's had two big weeks i'm not sure i'm i haven't taken a deep enough look around the repeated effort stuff like dave rennie loves his props to be i suppose more like the angus tarvel um you know massive impact around the field as well as scrummaging line out but
I'm sure Jace Ryan would have been licking his lips seeing that body shake at scrum time.
They absolutely smashed them.
He hasn't had much game time.
He's done a hell of a job coming in the last few weeks and stepping into a team that was dominating set piece.
And he's almost, I feel like, especially scrum time, taking it to another level.
And so many people look at the, it's easy to look at the breakdown and go, oh, look at the amount of turnovers they got.
They're really good defensively at creating that.
But it's putting the opposition in a position where you can't get your carry clean.
you can't get sharp shoulders into the clean you don't win the first carry collision and go between bodies and it's little things it's little things like getting set up just checking the inside cleaner um you know almost being passive low chop tackle with guys putting pressure um in and around those cleaners to buy like a half back a chance for a for a turnover or the way dupla c griefy like man he was beautiful to watch um the other night just the way he hunts
And so I think if you look at the Chiefs and the Hurricanes, they've dominated that game line on attack through their carry clean, which has allowed them to not face defensive lines that are set.
So then they've got time.
The defenders don't have time to set.
So the attackers actually have time to assess, okay, where's the space?
