But we've already, I mean, the medical world has already been through this in a part because, I mean, so my department is full of bioethicists and medical ethicists.
And this is a huge amount of the push.
So in the medical world, it was for a long time,
It was assumed that what you're trying to do is up people's longevity and you want to do any intervention possible to increase the longevity.
And because quality of life is hard to track, you just do all these interventions.
And what you get is, I think, the thing that we're aware of, which is this
Brutal attitude, especially towards end-of-life care, that tends to push for longer life no matter what.
And now we're seeing the pushback, right?
A lot of what we have now about a lot of us have, you know, a lot of us have do not resuscitate.
A lot of us have a lot of advanced directives because...
The medical establishment took decades to come off of just being obsessed with longevity at any price towards being able to be open to people making decisions about quality of life versus longevity.
Yeah.
And now it feels like a lot of people are just doing the same.
I mean, George Carlin, back in the day, he had... One of his old jokes was, yeah, people say you live longer if you run more, but you spend all those years running.
And, right?
Like, I mean, it makes...
You want a good life.
Yeah.
Too short, not great.
A life where you've made the number of years go up by forcing yourself to do a bunch of things you hate for your entire life.
