My daughter being ill was the low point.

I have two girls and the youngest one is very creative, very like me, very creative, very ADHD.

That's how I got diagnosed with ADHD, which is the modern way.

So my daughter got diagnosed with it and I was like, oh, this makes sense.

ADHD stands for?

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

So your brain is just constantly racing.

Basically, you don't have enough serotonin in your body.

So you become kind of painfully bored very quickly.

So you're constantly doing things to give yourself a little serotonin bump.

So you're talking quickly so that you will get some stimulus back and you're just constantly doing things to try and raise your serotonin.

It makes you quite reckless.

And she was, but she was undiagnosed with that.

Yes, so I think my dad clearly had it as well.

She is, but she was undiagnosed with ADHD and undiagnosed with polycystic ovaries, which made her periods very emotionally intense and despairing.

And so she developed an eating disorder at the age of 11 to be able to cope with that.

So the three years that she had an eating disorder, that was the low point, definitely.

At first, appallingly, because even then, and this was seven years ago, eight years ago now, even then there wasn't as much information as there is now about it.

So as a parent, it was, I mean, I'm a researcher, I'm a journalist.

As soon as she was diagnosed with this, I was like, I will learn everything.
