I'm on the seasonal schedule in terms of the first example I talked about.

Summers, I really down cycle.

And then during the academic year, now this is a natural fit for a professor, right?

Because it works out that way.

But what I like to do is through the two semesters, I'll be pretty up during those semesters, but down cycle pretty intensely at the end of the semester.

So the semester ends and it's like exam periods and break.

So in December and in May, really down cycle during the breaks.

And then have two different characters to the semester.

So typically I'll have all my teaching in one semester.

That's like a very student focused semester.

I want to teach and be there for the students.

And that's what matters.

And then much more of a research focused semester or a book.

Like right now I'm in a book semester.

It's intense, but different feel.

And then summer I disappear.

I really fall off.

I don't take salary from my institution during the summer.

I completely wind things down and have like a drastic, like two or three month recharge period.

That's what works for me.
