Will it make my employers happier or employees happier?

And based on that, do I do it or not?

Or do I do it later?

Because yeah, yes, it should happen, but you've got 50 other ideas too.

But that's how I prioritize them is based on that ROI and based on the people input, time input and money input.

So taking the guys to a baseball game is going to make them happier.

I would then look at our employee net promoter score to know where are we today on our happiness for our employees, right?

I know what my customer net promoter score is.

What's my employee net promoter score?

If I'm over positive 80%, I'm going to dial back all the baseball games I'm taking people to because I don't need happier employees.

So years ago, I was coaching a company.

They were ranked as the number two company to work for on Glassdoor in the United States.

I coached them for four years, coached six of them.

And their employee net promoter score was positive 86%.

And we were talking about some of the stuff, all the perks they were giving their employees.

And I said, you know what?

You're trying to actually grow your gross margin.

You're trying to grow your EBITDA because you're getting ready to sell.

Why don't we get rid of some of the perks and let's dial back the employee net promoter score from positive 85 or 86 to positive 75.

You'll still be one of the best companies in the world to work for, but you'll be a lot more profitable.
