So using cash or a card that only has your grocery money on it keeps your spending in check so that you're not accidentally spending
dipping into money that is meant for your other bills or for your other savings.
Well, groceries are absolutely a necessity, but I always like to remind people to be realistic.
If you have dietary restrictions, like for example, one of our friends, good friends has celiac disease, your grocery budget might be a little bit higher because of those restrictions.
That's okay.
Don't guilt yourself into extremes.
Keep your budget within a reason.
I'd recommend cutting streaming services or other non-essentials before you cut your grocery budget too far.
Well, most products in the store will go on sale every six to 12 weeks, and there are also some seasonal patterns that you'll be able to see too, such as summer means that barbecue items will be going on sale, holidays will bring in baking item deals, and then New Year's is synonymous with health food, so the health foods will go on sales.
Knowing this can help you plan for what you're gonna buy and when you're gonna buy it.
But if you miss a sale, it's no big deal.
You can buy what you need now and then just wait until another sale comes around.
Now, when something does go on sale, you'll want to stock up to last long enough to make it until the next sales cycle.
That way, you'll rarely pay full price.
Yes, I do this with things like toilet paper and laundry detergent or other household items.
I haven't paid full price for toilet paper in over 13 years because I constantly keep it on a sales cycle of when I purchase it.
You can also use this for things for your pantry.
For example, if spaghetti sauce goes on sale every 12 weeks and your family uses that item regularly, you could buy enough to last your family for the next three months on the sale price.
That way you'll have enough stocked in your pantry and you can shop from your pantry and not the store until the next sale happens.
Exactly.
