So I'm always very intentional about point of view.

It's one of the first things I try to figure out when I sit down to write a book.

I mean, I think you have to, but I know some writers try it in different ways and then see what works best.

But I sort of have an instinct for it and

and just knew sitting down that this was going to be a three-person point of view from each.

And I knew that one of the three had to sort of be an anchor.

Like even if you have, you know, the group, you really do want, and I believe it should be the person that you start with.

I think the first voice that people hear is the one that they sort of automatically, it's like a firstborn kid, I guess.

It's like the first one they bond with.

So I knew that Val was going to be a little bit of the lead, a little bit of the anchor character.

Yes, that's absolutely true.

And I think one nice workaround with that is with three different POVs, you do get everybody's observation of everybody else.

So you get to see them from the inside as well as the outside.

And it's nice if those things sort of

there's a little friction there, like if they rub up against each other a little bit.

But yeah, it's nice to be able to see someone from exterior and interior.

My first book I wrote in first person.

And at the time, I always thought every book I was going to write was going to be in first person.

That was just what came really natural to me.

And then I thought with my second book that I needed two points of view.
