to potentially bring that to market here in the near term future, I think instant payments adoption is really driving the need for that.
Because if you truly have payments, you really need the ability for cash to interoperate with other assets types, with other working capital tools, invest, borrow, lend, etc.,
And I think this is really just the beginning of kind of a bit of a snowball that we're going to have into truly a 24-7 financial services ecosystem.
Payment's really just the first thing to kind of break through that glass ceiling.
But a lot of the work that's going on in tokenized assets, in private chains and on-chain technology and those type of things within banks and consortiums, I think that's really going to be the focus in the next couple of years.
And cash is going to be kind of the on-ramp and off-ramp to a lot of that ecosystem.
Absolutely.
You know, when I look at the spectrum of adoption with any new capability or technology that kind of comes out, whether it's the bank side or the corporate side, right, there's always folks that are on the front end of that as early adopters, really kind of pushing the envelope for the industry on, right, moving to instant payments and kind of layering it in, moving to a 24-7 operating model, using new ledger methodologies to really kind of get benefits of reconciliation and so on.
And kind of start some of what I just mentioned relative to moving in that direction.
There's those that are kind of fast followers and those that are way behind and still really addressing some of the more traditional challenges in the industry, like paper to digital.
Right.
And some of the things that we've been talking about in Treasury and kind of global transaction banking for decades.
And we're still talking about it.
Right.
How do we get off of check?
Right.
and go to ACH?
How do we go to instant?
How do we evolve into a 24-7 operating cycle?
There's a whole spectrum of maturity and digitization that exists there.
