And I knew that that was what I needed to
And I saw a lot of people going straight to the solution part where they say, Okay, I'm gonna just try and add a yoga class on it, I'm gonna just do a mindfulness app.
And yes, those things are brilliant, but not if you're not understanding why you're here in the first place, or if you're understanding why this makes sense and not if you're not being compassionate towards yourself.
So I really wanted to think, okay, well, where if I peel everything back.
what would have been the exact first step that would have made sense before I start to try and solve this problem or like have all the answers.
Um and the first thing was to to talk to someone you trust.
And I try to explain why that's so much more than just a nice idea.
And it's just about
Taking the anxiety or the storm swirling inside you out and placing it in a dialogue with someone.
And the key is that it's someone that you trust, not someone who's gonna say, Oh, sure, what if you why are you feeling that way?
Like just, you know, look how much worse off it could be.
That is not the person to go to.
It's someone in whose pre whom's presence you, your nervous system kind of exhales and you relax.
And what that does is when that person is kind to you and says, Yeah, that makes sense, and they don't need to solve the problem for you, they just say, I hear you, I'm with I'm bearing with
witness to your lived experience that helps you access the compassion that you might not have for yourself at that moment.
Because self-compassion, you're not gonna get anywhere without it.
But it's very hard when you're feeling that.
Um like
ill at ease with your own system.
