But there's little bits of having to understand things like, you know, a person's window of tolerance when they come into the world.
And it's their ability to experience stress better.
within a realm that they can manage before it goes into overdrive and fight or flight response.
And having to understand that about him, that maybe this is just too much for him today, even before we had the diagnosis, helped me to understand anxiety a lot more in general.
Because like I said in the beginning, anxiety, regardless of what neurodiverse diagnosis, their anxiety tends to be there along for the ride as well.
And that anxiety still needs a lot of support and management.
And that's really hard to do with a kid.
Was there ever medication suggested for him?
He's too young still.
I think if we were in a different country, it might be more the norm.
But I've looked into it and it's like not a five year old.
I think there'd be real fear around it, which is necessary, I suppose.
But medication is something I mean, I would I would consider I'm on medication for anxiety.
You know, I've been on it for a long time.
I wouldn't be opposed to anything that helped him feel a bit better in the world.
But yeah, not there yet.
That book was called Owning It and that set me on the path of everything I do now, the podcast.
And then I wrote two other books.
