But I think developmentally for children, I would encourage parents to think about the time that they spend on devices, but also their children.
So it means getting up and moving our bodies more.
We're not moving our bodies like we once used to.
And that's gone back to research from the 1980s about physicality.
You know, so getting out there, get in the park, get outside if you've got a garden, a tramp.
We love monkey bars.
Monkey bars are phenomenal for developing not just your core strength and stability, but those fine motor.
Anything that gets your body moving.
I love outdoor chalkboards or an opportunity for children to have the chalk in their hand.
Small chalk is good, not the chunky stuff.
Small chalk for those small finger movements, but they're also developing that shoulder girdle and feeling basically their body in space.
So it's called proprioception, big fancy word for the day.
But it's like understanding how their bodies are moving in space.
And even things, well, like the park, getting out there.
I was with my granddaughter the other day and it was like a hamster wheel.
It didn't work out well for me.
Too old for that.
But she had so much fun spinning in this.
