So if you have a child who tends to speak really high or really low based on where their voice sh is more comfortable, um, that can be hard on the voice.
So that can be part of it.
If they're frequently losing their voice, uh, if they are breathing out of their mouth instead of their nose, it could be that there are some structural um problems that make it so that air can't go out through the nose.
So that's uh important to look at.
If they're running out of breath when speaking or lacking breath support, or if they have noisy or effortful breathing during speech, it sounds like they're gasping for air.
So though all of those things are possible reasons that you might want to consider this curriculum, but again, you're going to want to make sure you get that ENT clearance before you start the therapy to make sure there's not some sort of a structural problem happening that we need to address first.

And so that would be coughing or clearing your throat a lot, screaming or yelling, making harsh sound effects, not drinking enough water, things like that.
And so we can work on a
Eliminating those abusive behaviors first, and then we can work on intermediate level is using our breath to coordinate our breath with our speech and using our breath effectively to support our voice.
And then at the advanced level, we're looking at self-monitoring and carrying over those voice strategies.
Um, so making maybe environmental modifications to prevent voice strain.
