Why am I the only one here?

I was more thinking it's stupid that I'm here.

Why me?

Yeah.

I should be on the beach safe.

However, yeah, I was just at that point so focused on getting her to the beach.

There was two focuses in my mind, which is where is this shark and just get her to the beach.

I was never really thinking about anyone else being there.

A lifeguard did come up to me with a board for the last few strokes.

I don't know how far we were, but it felt like the last little bit right towards shore.

And that was great because as soon as I could stand, he was there to help pick up her legs and I carried her torso and we just got her up to dry sand where there was heaps of people ready to help her.

Once I saw the size of the shark...

I realized that at any point where I couldn't see the shark, it could be coming at me.

And it wasn't, yeah, it wasn't a, I could be next.

I was pretty aware that I wasn't the one in the most danger in this moment.

Um, at the same time, I was terrified for a pretty rational reason.

I reckon is that there was a hungry, really powerful, large animal in the water.

Um,

It definitely wasn't the exact phrase, I was next, but all of my actions were a balance between wanting to do what I can to help and also being really scared for my own safety.

It's interesting.
