So, you know, we're probably old school and what have you.
The challenge with Australia and Australian investments is for a long time,
Domestic equities here were used virtually as bond proxies.
You go and buy CBA shares, you get 6% or 7% fully frank yield, and you just let it continue to.
The problem is, is that over time, those multiples blew out and those yields fell quite heavily.
So people kind of stopped being in love with Australian equities for dividend production.
And the growth just isn't here.
Credit growth has slowed over time.
The mining sector has actually performed quite well, but it's just the size and the scope of those banks and those banks kind of falling.
So we are certainly a lower weight investor to domestic equities at this point in time.
We probably, again, probably believe that returns there will be somewhat reduced.
muted and we'll probably be below long-term averages for the next kind of 12 or 18 months.
So if we had to choose where we're putting our equities dollars, we're putting it into global.
We have probably thought more about thinking about equities as a bundle as opposed to domestic equities and global equities.
And our weight of capital is absolutely going to global equities and we'll get our income.
We used to get lots of our income from domestic equities.
We'll get our income from private debt, private credit, infrastructure style investments
We use private credit, private debt as effectively as part of the defensive portion of the portfolio.
So we need to distinguish between private credit in the US, which was mainly obviously commercial lending, and what we call private credit, which is really private debt here in Australia, which is mainly property and asset-backed type stuff.
For our client portfolios, we want our defensive bits of the portfolio to do defensive things.
