However, I'm going to hopefully counter with something that will make you feel better.

What we have with the college football calendar...

is one where I think everybody would benefit by it changing except the SEC.

And I know how much you like to dunk on the SEC, all right?

So let's go the other direction.

Because I think college football has to figure out a way to get this season done by January 1st.

I know that there have been many people who have argued that the game, the national championship game should be played at the Rose Bowl on January 1st.

I am a huge proponent of that.

I think it would be great.

to just get the regular season over.

Maybe we get rid of conference championship games.

Then we immediately go into the playoffs.

The football season's over by January 1st.

Portal opens January 2nd, closes a couple of weeks later.

And then if we're really going to continue with this narrative that these football players, that really any athletes are still student athletes, I think it would be a great time for football specifically to really take the spring semester as one where those students could go to class, they could go to the weight room, they could develop their bodies.

Also, it would benefit, in my opinion, one of the greatest issues with the current college football calendar is how many players high schoolers are leaving their high schools after their first semester of their senior year to go join the teams in January.

I would love for these kids to be kids to, you know, get to play a spring sport, get to go to prom, get to do all the really fun things about being an 18 year old in your hometown.

And then once the spring semester ends for both high school and college, we start kind of an OTA-type thing, like modeling after the NFL.
