Do you know and you'll know this, over the years, having worked in the industry and you go to a dinner party, right?

Or you go to a lunch or wherever you are, and if you say to people, I work in the book business, or you know, I'm a bookseller for a long time I was that or work in publishing or now run my own business.

People always confess.

They'll I I don't know.

I think females say, Oh, wow, what should I read next?

And males usually say

And I know this is generalization, but males usually say, Oh, I haven't read a book since high school or something like that.

You know, it's always kind of a problem or a barrier to reading, right?

And we know that through statistics, right?

But you know what I've never been asked.

I've never ever been asked what not to read.

Oh, don't read this.

You know, people never say to me, Oh, and what do you think I shouldn't read?

And that's what we do.

I I really built the business.

on the premise that nobody ever asks you what not to read.

And e we yes, we do commercial fiction and we do mass market fiction and women's fiction and whatever.

But all of those are silos of reading.

Some people just read one genre, some people read many genres.

And do you know for me, you know, maybe rural romance isn't something that I enjoy so much.
