I almost call the book Mirrorland, M-I-R-A...
But I was afraid it was going to be too easily misunderstood or misconstrued as mirrorland or that just the title would be confusing, which is why I went with mirrorland.

Because of course, Mira never will make it to the LPGA after killing a caddy.
It's never going to happen for her because of her own guilt and self-loathing.
And as she, you know, I'm not spoiling this for any readers because as she explains in chapter one or chapter two, I never play golf again.
That's fair.
And if I were an English professor, I would give you an A+.
That is a magnificent interpretation of mirror and what I'm hoping the reader's reaction is.

The kinds of things, and again, this isn't a spoiler, that Mira does in the book that I did in real life.
At one point, Mira is enraged at one of her older brother at Princeton's friends who does something dismissive of her.
So when she goes to his dorm room,
covers the exterior door with rubbing alcohol, knocks on it, and then throws a match on it so that when the poor student opens the door, the door is completely awash in flame.
I was a freshman.
in college, when all of us figured out that this was the funniest prank in the world, because the rubbing alcohol on a fireproof door, which the doors were, would instantly burn out, but there would be that split second when somebody would open the door and it was completely on fire.
Yep, I really did do that.
Not proud, but Mira does it in the novel.
And scenes like that, I would wonder as I was writing them,
Is this your way of, instead of telling your therapist your shit, you're dropping it on your readers?
