And although we've had a few good local successes, they haven't listed on our market.
So people don't have exposure to the Atlassians or Canvas through the ASX.
You know, Atlassian is listed in the US and Canva hasn't listed yet, but it probably will list over there.
So absolutely, if Aussies want exposure to some of these growing industries, you can't just have Aussie shares growing
you need shares not only in the US, but in markets like Korea and Japan and other countries that are growing faster due to technology.
Does that mean technology will only go up?
No, absolutely not.
And there could be a period where these sectors become overheated and they ultimately fall and maybe our market's in a beneficiary because people are looking for more defensive exposures, happy with dividends, happy with the sorts of stocks that our country has.
But
It's been a pretty lonely place for the last five or 10 years because grocery stores and telcos and banks aren't the exciting stocks people want at the moment.
Isn't this pointing to- Well, yeah, I think we'll see it even more in Australia if the government has carve-outs for tech companies on the CGT.
Every hairdresser becoming a tech company.
But yes, I mean, it feels a bit frothy.
The big problem with trying to call a top in these areas is you could have equally thought three years ago it was frothy.
And so you don't really know whether we're in the adoption curve of-
you know, to put it back in the original tech boom sort of context, like are we in 91, 92?
Are we in 97?
Are we in 98?
And even between 98 and 2000, the US market doubled again.
