in the 2016 campaign, I could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue and no one would leave me.

And everyone sort of rolled their eyes and mocked him for it.

And I think he was right.

I think he understands the appeal and the lure he has over these people.

I do think there's a Pied Piper element to it that they just follow him.

And the more... It's like a conspiracy theory.

Everything fits into it.

So the more things he does that get him in trouble...

the more convinced than ever the people who follow him are that he's the victim of a deep state targeting operation.

I think there is a real possibility in the classified documents case he could go to jail.

And I think that will really test whether and how long they're willing to stay with him.

Because you can run for president while in jail.

You can be a former convict and run for president, amazingly.

But everyone else, I would say, that would be a death blow to their candidacy.

For Trump, I just don't know.

So many things have already happened to him that would kill any other candidacy, and yet here he stands.

I disagree.

Okay.

And I'll tell you why.

In 2016, he lost the Iowa caucuses to Ted Cruz.
