And so I got the offer from the Houston Post.
I went, flew down, came back, got the offer, and um and I called Paul Anger and I told him.
And Paul goes,
Have you taken the offer?
I said no.
He goes
Don't take the offer.
Give me twenty four hours.
Okay.
I said, What what do you and I knew him well, you know, uh he was been my boss all summer and I s and he goes, Just give me twenty can you give me twenty give me twelve hours.
Give me twelve hours.
And sure enough he was calling back with a a job offer and I had uh which was great and wonderful and it's where I wanted to work.
Uh uh obviously the Herald at the time was a top ten newspaper.
Nothing against the Houston Post, nothing.
I I think of that all the time.
Obviously that worked out great for me.
Um, and I thank them.
And I ran into some people years later and I thanked them again for that offer.
And I I felt bad that I
