You're looking at trip interruption, trip cancellation.
That's typically why clients are interested in getting the travel insurance.
Because if something happens, there's a delay
They want to know, can I can I still get some of my investment back or can I still get there?
And who pays for that?
Right.
If there's a delay of six to 12 hours, they might be entitled to some form of compensation for the inconvenience.
It might delay their entire itinerary for 24 hours.
But they've got an insurance company that's saying, well, we're going to cover you up to $600 for your lost baggage or your delayed baggage.
That's great.
There's something called CFAR, which is cancel for any reason.
That's an add-on that you can build onto your travel insurance when you purchase the policy.
And there's usually requirements for that, usually in the first 14 to 21 days, that you can get reimbursed up to a certain amount of the total investment for the trip.
So let's say you switch jobs and your new job is not going to give you that time off for the trip that you already have booked.
if you have canceled for any reason you could go to that insurance carrier and ask them is this a covered benefit because they all have specific criteria for what they consider to be any reason right just like any insurance company for me specifically
Those things are important.
Trip interruption, trip cancellation, baggage delay, lost baggage.
But the other piece that I talk with clients about, and this kind of goes back to my background a little bit, is the medical coverage.
people don't think about life happening outside of the United States or even inside the United States.
I have so many unfortunate stories of people being on vacation thinking it's going to be the greatest trip ever.
