Leaders uh emphasize prevention.

uh prevention as the best uh cure, uh and and and putting a a due uh emphasis on on on prevention and not just sort of chasing after uh you know the incidents and and making sure we uh

uh resolve those, but you know, trying to get ahead of the curve and and anticipating uh improving their uh foresight abilities uh and uh and their detection of patterns.

For the carrots, uh we're talking uh so specifically uh the terms, um so procurement terms, uh these you know

Contracts with with with suppliers.

And so the the question is to what extent are you just sort of shoving down the compliance uh lists, you know, down the throats of your suppliers, uh saying, you know, do this and that, or else, you know, you're gonna get kicked off.

Uh, or are you also incentivizing?

Uh performance.

So we picked up cases where companies are saying, you know, if you do well on your sustainability KPIs, you will have better terms.

Or uh we will um adjust uh the uh the the conditionality going going forward.

This is it gets interesting to me because there's there could be a certain cost associated, right?

Because you're not just uh

Uh you know, price is uh I would say, you know, almost a religion in in procurement.

Uh but you it it may not just be about you know squeezing your supplier to the nth degree.

It might be about finding, you know, fair terms that also incentivize performance, saving you potential, you know

violations in the future because they're not as squeezed, and you're also potentially protecting, you know, your own re reputation.

So there could be other, let's say, rationale um dictating the terms of engagement than just price.

Yeah, great question.

Uh well it's it is a privilege uh it from a from a comparative law perspective, it's it is a privilege to be uh l studying the German

due diligence law.
