Conor Pope has been doing the maths on the cost of everyday items like boiling a kettle, running a shower and turning on your various appliances.
And he joined me in studio to offer some tips on how to reduce your home energy bills.
With the CSO today saying that energy prices rose in April by more than 15% year on year against the backdrop of the Middle East conflict, I began by asking him what the outlook for electricity and gas prices was for the rest of this year.
