And nobody did anything in the lounge until I came home in 2004.

The bar was flying because it's iconic and it's pints and whatever.

The history.

And the lounge was just dying away.

So I convinced my dad and my brother that I'd renovate it, get a builder in and we'd do some light food and then just kind of see how it goes.

So soups and sandwiches like my mom did and

my sister retired from nursing and got involved front house and she's just brilliant front house and uh everybody has a niche in the pub everybody does their certain thing so we started that off and there was like two staff and i was 28 staff and it's between bar and kitchen and it's brought a huge part to the lounge as far as as well as the bar because the bar is iconic for pints and tradition and it was really funny when i started doing the tapas menu uh

15 years ago.

They were like saying tapas, gravediggers, what?

Is something wrong with you?

And yeah, it was just stuff I'd seen in places and my opinion would be that if you eat too much, you can't really drink lots of pints either.

So it's nice to give that kind of just enough to keep you going and keep the prices the same kind of way.

oh yeah definitely you can see that but I think people are drinking what they want to drink where they want to drink it's destination now let's go for a pint there or let's go drink wine here I think it's when I left at 17 to come back at 35 was like different places supermarkets you get everything all the ingredients you wanted different types of cocktail bars coming up different types of ethnic restaurants or whatever and it was wow and I think it has changed but people are still drinking the resurgence of the point of Guinness is mad isn't it

Yeah, I think 2018, I could really see a shift in age group.

Their marketing changed as well.

And then the influencers started getting onto it.

Social media got onto it.

Yeah, well, that came back 2018.

It's a long time ago.

And then the dreaded COVID happened and you couldn't get it.
