I mean, lots of...

There's a lot said about, you know, voice and your voice and that kind of thing when it comes to writing.

And writers, you know, who are just kind of starting out are very kind of aware of this thing that they need to aim towards, you know, finding their voice or whatever.

And I find that a bit of a peculiar notion in a way.

And I suppose for the same reason that I have sort of

particular ideas about, you know, this notion of self as something quite bounded and contained and distinct, because I don't really feel like that about myself.

There are certain experiences that I've had that are specific to me.

You know, yeah, there's something personal about that, but whether or not that means I'm an individual, I don't know.

I wouldn't say I do feel particularly individual.

Really.

And that's why, for example, when people talk about, you know, the inner, the inner life, you know, and there's a tendency to think of that in terms of something very sort of naval gazing or something.

Well, I mean, that entirely depends upon what you think a self is.
