And guilt is feeling you've done something wrong, but shame is feeling there's something wrong with you.

And that's a very different energy, isn't it?

And that doesn't work for rehabilitation or being able to reintegrate back in and choose different behaviours.

Of course, ultimately, our first respect and sensitivity goes to the victims of crime.

However, if we want to ensure that there are less victims and there's less re-offending, this is where the focus needs to go.
