Yeah, it was certainly kind of an interesting storyline in that when a legend like Justin Verlander announces he's going to retire, it gets a pretty strong response nationally, across the league.
And yet locally, I think everyone kind of knew this was coming.
So it was kind of like, hmm, okay.
And then listening to Verlander talk, I think the thing that really stood out is, even though he was up there for years,
20 minutes and talked about a lot of different things.
He didn't really want to do too much reminiscing.
I asked him, you know, what he envisioned life after baseball looking like, and he said he didn't really want to go there yet.
He is still pretty focused on trying to get back and pitch for the Tigers in 2026, which again, he's only made one outing.
It was in Arizona at the start of the year, and he has been hurt ever since then.

He threw a bullpen Thursday, but he's been dealing with a hamstring issue even when he was...
ramping up from a previous hip injury.
His stuff just never really was quite there, or if it was, he couldn't sustain it for more than an inning or two at a time.
So it'll be pretty fascinating to see what happens with Justin Verlander.

The Tigers have the best ERA since June 1st.
If they're out of it, it would be easier to have a big send-off at Justin Verlander Day, sell a bunch of tickets.
If they're in it, I'm not sure completely what this will end up looking like.
