And I'd say, well, I'm here for 12 pounds a night.
He's over there playing songs that he likes for a hundred pounds.
I think I could do that, you know?
And I don't know, was it my 14th birthday?
I, again, wore my mother down.
And I can't remember how we came up with the money.
I can't remember what it was.
Maybe it was a credit union loan or something.
But my mother took me into Disco 2000 and she brought me my first cam set, you know, the cam as a mixer on the desk and whatever.
I started DJing.
Done that for years.
I mean, I DJed right up until...
Guys that are the same age as me and I'm 40, you know, but I've done my last party when they were all turning 30.
So I was DJing up until 10 years ago.
That kind of overtook the bar work as well for a number of years insofar as I was kind of reluctant to work in bars the weekend because you might work in a bar for 50 quid a night, but you might go out and do a 21st for 150 quid.
So for a number of years there, I was very, very busy.
Probably Thursday, I would have like a local gig, maybe Thursday and Sunday.
And then Friday and Saturday, I was probably doing everyone's 21st and wedding and made a very, very good living as a teenager.
And in my early 20s, no, wasted a whole lot of it.
Wasted a whole, burn a hole in your pocket.
