He's great.

I think we both think alike in how we want to close and use our long reach and tall frames to be physical and close plays out defensively.

And we take pride in being a D zone and D zone draw is a penalty kill and making that a big part of our game.

So seeing his competitiveness and his leadership, he's a vocal guy and he's been here a while and led the way in a lot of defensive ways.

So it's fun to feed off the energy that he brings.

Yeah, I'm sure it'll be weird.

I honestly don't know.

I knew being in Chicago would probably be tough, but hopefully here in the home ice in Edmonton, it'll hopefully feel like a normal game and not feel too much of the connection to guys.

He's got to play with just his competitiveness, and we think a little similarly with defensive plays and defensive-minded, trying to be fast at closing corners and strong on our net and get some blocks and sticks on pucks.

So I think any time you have a guy that thinks similarly to you, it makes the reads a little easier.

I think it's really nice.

He's easy to play with because we think similarly in wanting to be hard defenders.

He's a passionate leader that you can feel his intensity and his drive to win and be good for the team.

That is contagious as a partner to read off of.

So I think it's been really fun to play with him.

And honestly, all the guys on the left side have been cool to play with just to know that they're all solid defensively.

And specifically with him, just having some games to build that chemistry, it helps because in the heated parts of the games, you want to be able to have that natural instinct of knowing where a guy is to help defend and then even to bump two off breakouts and clears and things.
