The resourcing issue was caused by a failure of politics.
It wasn't caused by a failure of healthcare staff.
And I suppose th there's another issue here as as well, Claire, in terms of social media.
I mean, how many times have we had um something go around the world in terms of going viral on social media with no recourse for, say, the people who were uh uh s say for example, if the family member of the woman who was who was in the video um contact
contacted say Meta or TikTok or whomever to take that video down, um, you and I both know that there is no way that social media company companies would actually remove that video and that's part of the problem.
It does in i entirely because i if if you even hark back to two or three weeks ago after that tragic, awful accident on on the the the M nine, we effectively had commission a man on the National Airways on uh on your own station and other stations effectively nearly pleading with the social media companies to take down the content of the illegal a ac ac activity though
the wrong way driving in that case.
Um and in this case you have a video of a distressed woman um being unfortunately misper portrayed um for whatever r um accidentally as another woman, yet so there's no recourse with the social media companies.
They should be forced to take that video down.
I mean Commission the man should have the power to make the these social media companies
Take down this content.
I I mean, if you look at the amount of people that have seen that video, you even look at the comments underneath it.
And there's quite vitriolic comments about UHL and UHL healthcare staff on underneath the video.
But that just shows, in my view, how social media companies make money effectively from misery and hate.
Well, it's it's like this, Claire.
Um, you're a very experienced and accomplished broadcaster.
journalist for many years, you know that if you were to put out a package on radio or television, that that package goes through a process of due diligence before it ends up in a on air to make sure that that it is accurate, to make sure it's fact factual, to make sure it's it's truthful.
And you look at social media, it's a complete wild west uh uh out there.
