You're absolutely right.

So it's consumers, corporations.

But then the other thing is that although consumer payments are still a big part of instant payments, that's not actually where the revenue is going to be found.

That's not where the profitability for the bank sits.

It sits in those B2B payments.

And that's part of the challenge is do they actually want their payments in instant payments or is there more profits to be made in wires?

There are multiple arguments to that, not least of which is if you don't give your customer what they want, they will walk and go and do it somewhere else.

If they know that they're being charged or not given access to a service that they can get somewhere else, then they simply will go somewhere else.

And a lot of corporations will have multiple banks as well.

And again, coming back to that confusion level, if they're seeing a different service level across

different banks, then they're going to start making decisions as to which bank or indeed external third party they use to move their money.

Exactly right, yes.

I did want to talk actually about an interesting use case to compare against the US.

So we've been working in Colombia just recently, working with, and I'm going to channel my best Spanish accent, Banco de la República de Colombia.

the central bank there they've been standing up a new network for instant payments called brebe and um it just launched this year so we've seen some interesting growth there and i just want to give a comparison point 52 million people in colombia so what's that about a sixth of the us um

They initially started with a central directory service, so an alias directory.

That went live in July, which, by the way, went live on exactly the same day as Fedwire ISO 20022.

Can you imagine the fun we had on that day?

But that went live.
