I think, you know, I think this is where we're seeing Peyton kind of come into his own as a basketball player.
If you really look at the draft, right, when he was drafted in that, in that class with Christian Brown in 22, I think he was the lowest point per game score out of UCLA to get drafted in the first round in history of the draft at three points a game.
And that was, I think mainly due to situation, you know, obviously had a very successful high school career really notable as far as all Americans concerned.
And,
playing in the McDonald's game and things like that.
But I think now we're seeing a more increased opportunity for Peyton, especially with all of the injuries.
But I think that there's no doubt we see a huge leap in his game.
This year alone, he's averaging 13-5-2 on 50-40-74 splits.
Without Jokic in the six games, like you mentioned, he's averaging 25-7-2
25.7 rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block on 53% from the field, 45% from three, 33 attempts from three.
So definitely a really successful stretch we're seeing right now.
But I think what he's bringing to the table is really impressive.
You know, he's not just someone who's a spot-up shooter or a cutter like he was previously, you know, under Malone.
You know, I think under Adelman, we're seeing a bit more responsibility placed on other guys, right?
We're seeing Payton having the ability to handle the basketball.
You know, he's initiating actions on offense.
Um, even in these last couple of games, like he's been isolating against different players and he's been having success getting to the rim, um, getting two feet in the paint, uh, is having a pretty good floater game as well from that mid range area.
The jump shots looking really, really much improved as well.
And combine that with the two way play on the defensive end of the floor.
You know, obviously I think if your offense is really kind of, um, trending up, your defense slips a little bit, which I think Peyton has, especially in the stretch because the nuggets have actually needed his offense more than his defense, I think.
