Look, we're heading to kind of a smorgasbord of summer housekeeping going on a little bit at the moment.
But yes, there was a decision we knew.
Kind of looming on the excise cuts, Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Tánaiste and Finance Minister Simon Harris have used this word cliff edge, that there would be no cliff edge due to expire at the end of July.
Just to remind people, this would have been going back to April with fuel protests.
Excise was cut, 27 cents petrol, 32 cents diesel.
What we're looking at now is basically there will be a reversal of those energy supports introduced.
But it will take place over a period of months.
So firstly, there'll be no change until September and then they will gradually be unwound.
No, we don't.
But we understand it'll be over a period of four months and it will be done incrementally.
We don't know the amounts yet.
That hasn't been discussed yet.
But it's interesting timing with all of this because, firstly, there was no way, it's fair to say, I think there would have been a cliff edge because politically it would have been, you know, suicide, let's face it.
Particularly on a week where we know that the VAT cut for the hospitality industry is coming into effect and that's going to cost about 600 million euro in its first year.
So there's no way they were going to do this.
But what they're looking at doing now is they're going to try and continue suppressing inflation while oil prices remain elevated.
