And then, you know, and then it all sort of fell a bit flat.

But I was nearly 30 by the time I got Evita.

I kept getting down to the last two or three of everything and then, you know, getting the old elbow.
And I said to my dad, I don't think this is going to work because, you know, everybody else in my life, my girlfriends and people were moving on and getting married, having children or their careers were taking off and they would lead a full life, go out for dinner, go to the cinema, go to the theatre.
And I couldn't do any of that because I just didn't have any money.
So I was beginning to, it was sort of beginning to,
wear a bit thin to be honest and i'll on the brink of kind of thinking i think i've had enough i'm gonna obviously you know i can't get the parts i want to play um thinking of giving up when um evita came along
So, and again, I didn't really want to go for it because I did have a new agent by this time, Libby Glenn, dear Libby.
And my agent rings me and says, I've got the perfect part for you.
I said, oh, yes, what's that?
She said, well, and I'd already told her that I didn't want to do any more musicals because I felt that I was, you know, kept going for them, getting close and not getting them.
I said, look, I'm just going to become an actor now.
I'm just going to be, I'm going to be Judi Dench.
Yeah.
And so she said, well, I've got this marvellous musical that you must listen to.
It's out on an album and I want you to go and buy the album and listen to it.
You're perfect for the role.
