But I haven't met anyone like that.

Most people who are living in a hotel or a bed and breakfast with their children in a cramped room with no cooking facilities who are climbing the walls, they'll take anything slightly better than that.

But they won't take it if it's two and a half hours away in a city they've never been to.

No idea whether they can get their kid into the local school, given up a job so they become unemployed.

And also that home they're being offered, by the way, is private rental with a private landlord who in a year's time might evict them.

And then where do they go?

They're homeless in a city they don't even know.

All of that is backed up by legislation.

My job was political correspondent, not Westminster correspondent.

And I think we'd be wise as mainstream broadcasters to remember that, that there are some roles in newspapers where it's kind of Westminster or Whitehall correspondent, and their job, as it should be, is to sit in Parliament and hold politicians to account and comment on what's happening in the chamber.

I mean, that happens less and less.

But our job, my job, was political correspondent.

And as I've gone through this journey, I've realised, why does political correspondent mean I have to be in Westminster all of the time?

In fact, why does it mean I have to be there any time?

Because to learn about politics, I'm kind of thinking of that advert from the sort of 80s or something, where it's like, that's not politics.

I don't care about politics.

Well, that's politics.

Everything's politics.

Everything is.

My role, I learned as I went along, could still have been, and was for a couple of years, a political correspondent.
