But why does that mean I have to be in Westminster?
And that's the problem, I think, with political reporting in this country.
I think that we have a problem, which is that it's done from one postcode in a very small place.
And I talk about this in the book.

I talk about the blame also lies with us and the way we see our roles.
And part of the problem is that
The resource that's been put into journalism, and it'll only get worse with the way we, what we value is now too much of it is being decided by YouTube likes and views and impact.
But the problem with that is it leads you not to make the kind of, I think, documentaries we've made or the kind of reporting I've done, which is that sometimes it might not look sexy.
It might be quite hard to sell in those places.
It might not get hits and likes.
And so you end up kind of in Westminster talking about the kind of ups and downs and the machinations because it's cheaper and it's easier.
It's kind of a sugar rush.
But where does it get us?
The public, in lots of ways, don't know why we have so many.
Everyone can feel it.
Everyone can feel the country's not quite working in lots of different ways.
But as journalists, are we doing a very good job of explaining why we have a housing crisis, why we have issues with the economy, etc., why poverty still exists, etc.?
We don't because we're talking too much about what's happening in Westminster.
And that's why your book's about power and who has it and who doesn't.
