The bones of a good rotation are already there.

And the thing about the Jays is if you started the season over again with the rosters they currently have, I think the Jays would be a really good playoff team.

But that 53 and 60 record they have right now, that's already baked in no matter how good you are.

I mean, somebody can look at, like, a team underperforming their Pythagorean record, you know, the run differential record, and say, well, they should be better than this.

But they're not, and those games already count.

The Jays...

I guess it's a lot like the arguments we made in 2024.

We know that the Jays are better than they played, and so they probably will in the future, even if it doesn't show now in this season, I guess is the best way to sum that up.

I think it's one of the things you get used to as a baseball fan.

It's kind of the inherent chaos in baseball.

You look at, like, say, an NBA series, and generally speaking, low seeds are dead in the water against top seeds.

I mean, we've had a couple advance really far in recent years, but that's usually the case.

But in baseball, any team can beat any other team because the basic part of run scoring, that ball coming off a bat, is a chaotic, volatile element that's really hard to predict.

You can do things perfect in baseball and fail miserably.

And any at-bat, any time you connect with the ball.

Baseball has this way of, you know, always giving underdogs a chance because there's only so much that a great team can do to win.

People will be like, the Dodgers won the World Series each of the last two years, but they weren't fated to do so.

Just because they did win the World Series doesn't mean that they were guaranteed to or that it was like an 80% chance.

And that's a nice thing for baseball because no matter how unbalanced things are,

can get you always have hope uh you could you know send the uh the worst teams in baseball you can send uh the rockies to play against the dodgers in a three-game series the rockies could easily sweep the dodgers and it wouldn't raise in your eyebrows if you're a baseball fan uh but if a similar thing happened in in the nba you really would it'd be like the end of the world crazy
