And they're literally just throwing spaghetti at the wall.

I would be surprised if anybody responded to this.

The last go around we had with this was actually this year, a water municipality near here wrote to us and said, Hey, we want you, you know, we heard your name, we want you to participate in our RFP.

Can we send you the document?

Yeah, sure.

So they send the document over and I'm very surprised that the entire RFP document is a page and a half.

And it's basically we just want you to give us your proposed timeline, proposed costs, you need to give us a highlight of how you would do this assessment, and we need you to provide references.

And I'm like

These guys have no idea that when company A hires company B to do security work, ninety nine point nine percent of the time it's under NDA.

And some of those NDAs, depending on how they're worded and who they're from, like the industry verticals the company's in, the NDA will contain a clause that says, You're not allowed to tell anybody that we're your customers.

Right.

The mirror of the fact you know how you go to a website and there'll be that horizontal scrolling row of like all the fucking company logos of all the oh we deployed at this company and that like you get a lot of SAS Especially like the HR IT uh uh HR compliance automated bulb assessment patching space, they'll have a a scrolling every logo they've ever touched,

Yeah.

Well if you do security work and your job is to turn the company inside out like a gym sock, a lot of people don't they don't perceive that to be a positive.

They look at it as a negative.

This company, the the gig that I'm doing right now, actually have explicit instructions from the contact there who said, and this is to to touch on another topic I want to get into later called snake rules, which I do.
