I'm like, what?

They're like, Yeah, apparently there's a VP who just doesn't like seeing the name of the company in a report that describes how to hack the company.

And I'm like, oh o okay.

But the way that RFPs work is the company sends the RFP document to all the people who they want to participate in the RFP.

All those companies follow the document's instructions and turn in their own document.

And then at that point, you are functionally at the same stage where if our normal workflow is they contact us, we have a discussion, if they like what they hear, we produce a statement of work or an SOW.

And at that point in the RFP process, you have reached that.

stage where you are then handing an SOW, like a custom formatted SOW to the customer and they have a choice of who to select from the people that turn in the RFP response.

And we didn't make the cut.

And when we don't make the cut, I have started asking the customer.

Like if we don't get selected, I will write reply to them and say, that's unfortunate.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Can you please give me some insight into why we didn't make the cut?

What could we have done better to earn the business?

And maybe a quarter of them reply, because in large part, we have served our purpose.

We gave them their one of their three quotes.

They don't need us anymore.

So we have been used and disposed of.

And the ones that do reply, this water district basically said, Oh, um you didn't put your three references in and so we didn't even consider your application because we considered your application incomplete and I'm like, That's interesting.

The other people did and they're like, Yeah I'm like, Okay, can you give me some insight into what their you don't have to reveal any secrets, you don't even have to tell me who it is.
