As I mentioned in the interview with our guest this week, I was in the committee room when John Delaney made that famous appearance in 2018 where he basically stonewalled the committee and the true crisis at the heart of Irish football and football administration in Ireland came to the fore.

Now, thankfully, the country, the FAI have moved on.

They have a new chief executive, a chap by the name of David Carell, and he's our guest this week.

But it was just fascinating to get into the steps that have been taken to bring the FAI back from the brink.

put it on a more stable footing he gets into some detail very decent detail I thought and he was very honest I thought a very open guest about the scale of the challenge that he was confronted with when going in Peter you listened to the interview what was your overall assessment of it?

At a time when their death levels were off the charts.

But I thought he was interesting.

And again, you'll hear it and we can get into it more maybe in the post-match.

But like... But, you know, clearly saying clearly, we're not out of the woods yet.

We've just lost our new strategy.

We have a long way to go.

Did he say it was, I think, the second biggest... Gone down from 67 odd million to 36 point something, which is still a hefty... He said it's the second highest debt level of any organisation in Europe.

So we're still paying for the excesses of the Delaney era.

We're still paying.

And what was even really more revealing was the scale of the underinvestment across the organisation at different levels, at League of Ireland level, at grassroots level.

I was able to kind of give my own experience, coach my own sons, as probably a lot of people do.

You see that on investments at grassroots level.

And I thought he gave good value.

I thought he gave good value in terms of addressing and almost like a big part of...

reasserting confidence is admitting that there's a problem.
